The 2026 basketball season has reached its peak, and we couldn’t be more excited to share a truly historic update for Foundation athlete Gavin Mitchell.
Gavin and the Oaklands Wolves have officially reached the summit of Amercian basketball, proving that hard work and dedication truly lead to the top.
After an undefeated regular season, the Oaklands Wolves Men’s team headed to Manchester for the Playoff Finals. We are thrilled to announce that they won!
Gavin and his teammates are now National Champions, adding a gold medal to their promotion into Division 1. To sustain such a high level of performance throughout the entire postseason is a massive achievement, and we are incredibly proud of the part Gavin played in this success.
Beyond the team’s success, Gavin’s individual performance this year has been nothing short of elite. Competing in the Elite Academy Basketball League (EABL), Gavin has established himself as one of the most dominant players in the country.
His season averages speak for themselves:
17.5 Points per game
13.5 Rebounds per game
2.7 Assists per game
1.6 Steals & 1.3 Blocks per game
Because of these incredible stats, Basketball England has selected Gavin for the EABL South All-Conference Team. This prestigious award recognises him as one of the top players in the league – a fitting tribute to a player who balances academic studies with high-level athletic performance.
