We are excited to share an update on Gavin Mitchell, one of the promising young athletes supported by the Murray Sharp Foundation! The basketball season has tipped off, and Gavin is already making a huge impact with his team at Oaklands College.
Dominating the Senior Squad
Gavin has hit the ground running with the men’s senior team, earning selection for every game so far. The team is currently enjoying a phenomenal start to the season, boasting an undefeated record!
This success was underscored last weekend during a crucial double-header, where Gavin delivered exceptionally strong performances. His skills on the court were so impressive that his university team publicly praised his contribution to their victories.
EABL Debut and National Recognition
While the Elite Academy Basketball League (EABL) season has seen some false starts (due to a postponement and an abandoned game), Gavin finally played his first full EABL game yesterday.
Despite the team taking a loss, Gavin once again had a great game, demonstrating his consistent quality and skill. His strong play has already caught the attention of the national organisation, with Basketball England including him in their official academy news recap!
