Isla Carse’s Journey to the 2030 Commonwealth Games

Murray Sharp Foundation Athlete Isla Carse

At the Murray Sharp Foundation, backing our athletes is about supporting every phase of their development, from grinding through training cycles to taking on the world’s biggest stages.

Today, we’re thrilled to share an update on sponsored gymnast Isla Carse as she navigates a pivotal competitive stretch!

Mastering Her Upgrade Season

April through October marks “Upgrade Season” in the gymnastics calendar, a gruelling training window where athletes focus on learning higher-difficulty skills and refining new routines for upcoming competition cycles.

Isla has been putting in relentless hours in the gym to ensure her upgraded routines are competition-ready for a stacked autumn schedule in Scotland and beyond:

  • FIG Open:
Kickstarting her competitive run in Motherwell.
  • Gordon Foster Teams:
Representing her squad on home soil.

The Road to Denmark & Texas

Isla’s upcoming schedule expands far beyond local arenas. At the NPP Scotland Camp, she will take part in a closed trial for selection to represent Scotland at the Northern Europeans in Denmark.

Then, in December, Isla will travel to the United States to compete in Texas! Beyond taking on elite international competition, this event provides an extraordinary showcase opportunity: with scouts in attendance from top American college gymnastics programs.

Eyes on the Ultimate Goal: 2030

Every routine upgrade, domestic meet, and overseas trip brings Isla one step closer to her ultimate ambition: representing Scotland at the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

Navigating high-performance gymnastics requires immense dedication from athletes and their families, along with significant travel and competition costs.

The Murray Sharp Foundation is proud to help cover Isla’s travel, entry fees, and accommodation expenses so she can focus on performing at her very best.
