Magnus Makes Massive Splash: Ranks Top 5 in the UK

We are thrilled to share an outstanding update from swimmer Magnus Morris following his highly successful debut at the British University Championships (BUCS).

Competing for the first time as a senior, Magnus delivered a performance that has immediately placed him among the best young swimmers in the country!


Record-Breaking Success at BUCS
Magnus achieved remarkable results, showcasing consistent improvement throughout the competition:

  • He secured a total of four personal bests (PBs) across his events.
    In the 50m Freestyle alone, he improved his PB an astonishing three times in a row!
  • His best achievement came in the highly competitive 50m Freestyle event, where he reached the B final and finished 7th. This placed him an impressive 17th out of 379 total participants in the event.

 

National and Scottish Standings
Magnus’s time of 22.91 seconds in the 50m Freestyle has earned him serious recognition in the rankings for 18-year-olds:

  • 1st Ranked in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
  • 5th Ranked in the UK 🇬🇧

Magnus is deservedly very pleased with these BUCS results, confirming that his training and preparation are firmly on track.


Looking Ahead to Scottish Nationals
The momentum is strong heading into his final competition of the year: the Scottish National Short Course Championships in Edinburgh in mid-December. The BUCS results have put him in excellent stead, and we look forward to hearing about his final performance of 2025.
