The Scottish golf season is well and truly underway, and we have an incredible result to celebrate from the local greens.

Foundation athlete Scott Newman has officially returned to Scottish soil, and he wasted absolutely no time making his presence felt on the course.

Taking the Podium in Renfrewshire

Competing in his very first event back home, Scott put on a fantastic display of golf at the Renfrewshire Men’s Strokeplay Championship. Against a highly competitive local field, Scott battled his way right to the top of the leaderboard, securing a brilliant 2nd place finish.

A True Foundation Moment

What makes this result even more special for us is who took the top spot. Scott was delighted to finish just behind the tournament winner and fellow Murray Sharp Foundation supported golfer, Alexander Farmer!

Seeing two of our incredibly talented athletes secure a 1-2 finish on the podium is a massive milestone for the Foundation. It perfectly highlights the depth of young talent we are privileged to support, and it is a wonderful reflection of the honest player spirit Murray held so dear.

More To Come

This is just the beginning of a massive summer of golf for Scott.

We want to extend a huge thank you to our community and sponsors for your ongoing support. Moments like this, seeing our athletes push each other to excellence on the national stage, are entirely down to your generosity.

Incredible job, Scott and Alexander! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds for you both.
