Fresh off a sensational competition season, rising trampolining and Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) star Amelia McAulay has received the exciting news that she has been selected to represent Scotland at the highly anticipated 2025 Loule Cup. The international competition, a significant event in the global gymnastics calendar, will take place in Loule, Portugal, from October 23rd to 25th, where Amelia will compete in the DMT discipline.
At the Murray Sharp Foundation, our mission is to positively support the lives of aspiring young athletes and clubs through the power of sport and the experiences and opportunities this brings. Amelia’s journey perfectly embodies this ethos. Since joining the Scottish Trampoline Performance Pathway in 2023, she has consistently demonstrated the dedication, skill, and passion that we strive to foster.
We have been incredibly proud to support Amelia’s development, with our funding enabling her to attend critical Scotland Squad training sessions, access additional DMT-specific coaching, and crucially, compete in major events. These opportunities have been vital in her remarkable ascent, which saw her conclude the last season as a triple DMT Champion.
Amelia’s previous experience at the Loule Cup, where she competed in the trampoline discipline and admirably placed 7th out of 47 in the Under-13 category as the only Scottish finalist, undoubtedly played a role in her re-selection this year.
The upcoming event will provide Amelia with another invaluable opportunity to compete against top international athletes, gain further experience on a global stage, and continue her remarkable ascent in the gymnastics world.
The Murray Sharp Foundation remains committed to providing vital support to promising young athletes like Amelia, helping them to pursue their sporting dreams and achieve their full potential. We look forward to cheering on Amelia as she once again proudly represents our Nation later this year.
