Football Club
Bridge of Weir United FC is a local youth football club run by volunteers and through their hard work and success the club has grown and they are now in need of additional kit and equipment. MSF has provided funding to allow the club to purchase new strips. We wish them well for the coming year.
Rosie MacGuire

Rosie from Pollok GC is a talented golfer and one of the best young players in Scotland. She is currently in the under 18 Scotland team, won the World Junior Championship at 16 and the County Championship in 2022 as well as many open and club championships. Rosie is off to a scholarship at the University of Indianapolis this autumn and our funding is supporting her with coaching and competition expense this year.

Alexander from Kilmacolm GC is a Scotland Internationalist and was the 2024 Scottish Amateur Champion, balancing a degree at Stirling University with training and competitions. He also made it to the 2024 Final Open Qualifier at Troon. With his sights set on Walker Cup selection and a successful pro career, MSF is proud to support him with coaching and competition expenses for 2024 and 2025.
Isla McCutcheon

Isla is one of the best female Scottish cyclists and as well as her studying Sports Therapy at college she works a part time job to help fund her cycling. Her goal is to be ranked the No.1 female cyclist in Scotland and represent our country in the Commonwealth Games and has been selected for the Scottish Cycling Team – Solas Cycling, which is the path to progression into the UK elite. We were delighted to sponsor Isla and allow her to buy a new state of the art bike and to fund expenses for her training camps and competitions across the UK and Europe in 2024 and 2025. We wish Isla all the best in reaching her goals.

Unfortunately, only the two top ranked players receive funding and we are delighted to sponsor James for coaching, training and competition expenses in the UK and across Europe, for 2024 and 2025. Old Course Ranfurly
Golf Club
As Murray’s first golf club and where he played all his junior golf, Old Ranfurly was always very special to Murray. The club had plans to enhance the practice facilities and in particular assist with the development of the large junior section that currently has over one hundred members. The MSF agreed to help fund the construction of practice bays in Murray’s name as a fitting and lasting legacy.
The bays were completed before our inaugural golf day in 2024 and can be seen from the 4th hole.

Amelia is a highly accomplished trampolinist and DMT athlete. She is the current Scottish National Champion for Trampolining (Level 4 11-12) and DMT (Level 2 11-12), as well as a three-time British Inter-Regional DMT Champion (Level 3, 13-14) competing with Team Scotland. A member of the Scottish Trampoline Performance Pathway since 2023, Amelia trains with the Alba Trampoline and DMT Club in Barrhead. In October 2023, she represented Scotland at the Loule Cup in Portugal, finishing 7th out of 47 competitors in the Under-13 category and was the only Scottish squad member to reach the finals.

Isla Carse, 14, has been dedicated to gymnastics for eight years and currently trains at Largs Gymnastics Club. She attends the Scottish School of Sport for gymnastics, based at Bellahouston Academy in Glasgow. Isla is part of the Scottish National Performance Pathway for gymnastics and achieved remarkable success this year, finishing 2nd overall in the Scottish Championships for her age group and earning the title of Beam Champion. Her ultimate aspirations are to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at the Olympics.

Scott Newman, a member of West Kilbride and Gourock Golf Clubs, has had an outstanding year in golf. He is the winner of the Gourock Golf Club Gents Club Championship and the Ayrshire Boys Strokeplay. Scott has secured a scholarship at Lindsey Wilson College, where he will begin next autumn. With support from the Murray Sharp Foundation, he is receiving assistance with coaching and competition expenses, enabling him to continue developing his game. Scott is extremely grateful for this support as he prepares for the next stage of his golfing journey.
Kilmacolm Golf Club
Community Golf Academy
The Trustees have agreed to help fund a community youth golf academy at Kilmacolm Golf Club. The club are engaging with local schools and Inverclyde Council to open golf up to youngsters who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to try our great sport.
The funding provided clubs and practice equipment as well as professional coaching in 2024.

Lorna is a graduate of the University of Stirling and a member at Milngavie Golf Club. She is the 2024 Ladies Scottish Amateur Champion, 3rd time winner of the Scottish Ladies Order of Merit and finalist in the Women’s Amateur Championship at Portmarnock. Lorna was also a member of the winning Great Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup Team 2024. She is currently a member of the Scottish Ladies Team and hopes to continue her golfing journey when she turns professional at the end of this year.

A trainee professional golfer who has a clear passion for coaching and
developing others to achieve their goals in golf. Callum has competed in
various events at amateur level and has won the junior club championship 3
times at Gourock and twice at Greenock golf club, in 2025 he looks to make his
first start as a professional playing in events on the PGA in Scotland Tartan
Tour. As a student at the University of the Highlands and Islands – Centre for Golf,
Callum is continuously developing in his professional and personal practice and
hopes to complete this degree and become a full member of the PGA in 2027.

Kiron Gribble has had an impressive season, securing three tournament victories. His first win came at the Race to Dunbar, a one-day event where he shot an impressive 6 under par. His second victory was at a four-round, three-day event at Roxburghe, which he won in a playoff. Kiron’s final win of the season was at the Machrie, a two-day event where he triumphed by a single shot. This year, Kiron also represented Scotland four times—twice at the Under-16 level and twice at the Under-18 level, competing abroad at the European Championships in Poland and the Italian Under-16 Championships. Practicing six to seven times a week at Archerfield, Kiron takes full advantage of the excellent facilities to refine every aspect of his game as he continues to develop as one of Scotland’s promising young golfers.
